Hi, welcome to tips Tuesday
My name is Melanie Thorley and I am the principle solicitor of MJT Law.
Today I want to talk about number 10 of the 10 national employment standards.
Fair Work Information Statement
This statement must be given to every new employee as soon as possible after they start a job. It can be given at the same time as providing the employment contract.
The statement will set out all the NES entitlements and other rights and protections.
The statement can be given in person, by email or mail, by emailing a link to the website or by fax.
Failing to give a fair work information statement can incur penalties just like any other of the NES entitlements.
